This is my first attempt of making a plaque for my nephew that just graduated from college. It is made from mahogany. The size is around 1 1/8" thick x 22" wide x 18" high.

Here is a closeup of the glue joint. Not a bad joint, don't even need a back strip but am thinking about a herringbone pattern or a maple-ebony-maple strip inlayed.

Ebony Fretboard

Here is a picture of my completed fret board. I have tapered it and shaped it. I have put a 16 foot radius on it also. I have cut the fret slots and it is ready to have the frets installed.

Here I have added a removable paper template outlined with cork so that the top will not wobble when building. This takes in account for the arch in the guitar top.

My new Workboard

I made this out of 3/4 Baultic Birch plywood. I will drill a hole in the workboard for the sound hole to add a clamp to start building the guitar in a few days.

Rosewood Sides

Here is a picture of the sides after bending them using the bending jig and a heating blanket. I used stainless steel on top and bottom of the wood to get the bend both smooth and defect free. Also not the form for setting up the guitar sides. Works very good so far.

Scarf Cutting Jig

Another jig that I have made to cut the 17 degree scarf joint for the guitar neck. You clamp the wood to the front side of the jig does a perfect job, I didn't even have to touch up the joint. The joint was ready for glue up on the neck glue up jig.
